William Robinson
|
|
My name is William Robinson. I have been in the homebuilding business for the past 15 years, most recently, as co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Palmetto Traditional Homes (PTH) in South Carolina.
From the company’s startup in 1997 until its sale to a public company in 2004, the PTH operating model was to combine the operating discipline of a large building company with the flexibility and nimbleness of a local builder. One thing my partner and I were committed to was making our building company the most rewarding place to work in any of the cities we served.
Throughout 7 years of double- and triple-digit growth, we had to constantly adjust our internal processes to make sure our operations allowed us to take advantage of and retain the incredibly talented team we had in place. There was nothing more rewarding for me than being able to help a team of folks work together to analyze, redesign and implement improved processes that made our operating environment more rewarding. The benefits of these improvements touched not only our employees, but subcontractors, closing attorneys, mortgage companies and others involved in our business.
I started the Builder Operations Group to offer a few building companies something I would have loved to have - a consultant who had actually been an owner of a regional homebuilding organization and been through the challenges I was facing.
Running a homebuilding operation is tough enough. Trying to manage a homebuilding operation that is rapidly growing can be daunting. Click on the link below and see if any of the items we list sound familiar. If they do, I’d love to talk with you.
